The purpose of our limited ultrasound exams is to identify a pregnancy inside the uterus, detect the fetal heartbeat, and estimate how far along you are. STDs often present no symptoms but can cause serious reproductive health complications. Untreated sexually transmitted infections like gonorrhea and chlamydia can lead to Pelvic Inflammatory Disease (PID)[1], which increases the risk of ectopic pregnancy and infertility.[1][2]
Additionally, procedures involving the uterus, such as abortion, could cause an undiagnosed infection to spread to the reproductive organs.[1]
